Cookie Policy

Last Updated: February 26, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are used on obvious.ai and app.obvious.ai, who sets them, what they do, and how you can control them.
When you first visit our site, a cookie consent banner gives you the option to accept, decline, or customize which categories of cookies are set. You can update your preferences at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of any page.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They help the site remember information about your visit — such as your login session or your consent choices — and can be read on future visits. Similar technologies include pixels (tiny invisible images used to confirm a page or email was opened), local storage, and fingerprinting scripts.

Categories of Cookies We Use

1. Strictly Necessary — These cookies are required for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled and do not collect information used for marketing.
Session authentication (Obvious, Inc.) — Keeps you logged in to app.obvious.ai — Session / 30 days. CSRF protection (Obvious, Inc.) — Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks — Session. Cookie consent record (Iubenda) — Stores your cookie consent choices — 12 months. Load balancing (Amazon Web Services) — Routes traffic to available servers — Session.
2. Analytics — These cookies help us understand how visitors use our site. The data is used to improve the platform. None of this data is used for advertising.
Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — Measures traffic, user sessions, page views, and events across obvious.ai and app.obvious.ai — Cookies: _ga, _ga_* — 2 years / 24 hours. Fathom Analytics (Fathom Metrics Inc.) — Cookieless, GDPR-compliant traffic analytics; no personal data collected — No cookies — N/A.
Note: Fathom Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It does not require consent under GDPR or CCPA.
3. Marketing & Advertising — These cookies measure whether visitors who saw our ads went on to sign up or take other actions. On obvious.ai, these tags are used for general marketing. Within app.obvious.ai, they are limited to the post-signup onboarding confirmation page only. The /signup page is not instrumented with advertising tags.

HubSpot (HubSpot, Inc.) — Marketing email tracking, form submissions, and contact management — Cookies: hubspotutk, __hssc, __hssrc, __hstc — 13 months / 30 min / Session / 13 months. Cookies Set by Third Parties

Some cookies are set directly by third-party platforms (not by Obvious). Declining marketing cookies in our banner will block these where technically possible, but some third parties may still collect data through other means when you interact with embedded content. We recommend reviewing each provider's privacy policy for full details.

How to Manage Your Cookie Preferences

On our site: Use the Cookie Preferences link in the footer to open the consent manager at any time. You can accept or withdraw consent by category.
In your browser: You can block or delete cookies through your browser's settings. This may affect the functionality of the platform. Chrome — Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies. Safari — Preferences → Privacy. Firefox — Options → Privacy & Security. Edge — Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services.
Opt-out links for specific services: Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad preferences: facebook.com/adpreferences. LinkedIn opt-out: linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls. Digital Advertising Alliance: optout.aboutads.info. Network Advertising Initiative: optout.networkadvertising.org.

Do Not Sell or Share (California Residents)

California residents may opt out of the sharing of personal information through cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising by clicking "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" in our website footer or emailing compliance@obvious.ai.

Iubenda Consent Management

Obvious uses Iubenda to manage cookie consent. Iubenda's consent banner collects and stores your consent choices in a cookie (iubenda_cs_preferences) for 12 months. This cookie is strictly necessary and cannot be declined — without it, we cannot remember that you opted out.
Iubenda's own privacy policy is available at iubenda.com/privacy-policy/65675001.

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We update this policy when we add or remove tracking services. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes (such as adding a new advertising platform) will be communicated via the consent banner on your next visit.
