We're creating a world of abundance
We've built the world's most capable, collaborative AI agent. One that partners with knowledge workers across fields and industries to produce work that feels like it came from their highest self on their best day.
Obvious is about to change the way that billions of people work and create. We're looking for builders with impeccable taste and judgment to join us on this mission.
A high caliber product requires a high caliber team
You’ll be surrounded by team members who have perfected their crafts at the most respected companies in the world.
Our not-so-secret sauce
Our team is working with a monumental mandate, and we’re very open about what it takes to succeed.
High agency, low ego
Obvious is an ideal working environment for people who aren't hung up on corporate hierarchy. You’ll be given everything you need to be highly effective, and the agency to make judgment calls. We expect that you’re open and responsive to feedback, whether that comes from execs, peers, or direct reports.
AI adoption isn’t optional
Our team’s AI adoption is 100%, and that’s a non-negotiable. Our goals demand both exceptional effort and high leverage. AI is how we extend human capacity to meet the moment. Fortunately we’ve built an incredible agent that makes working alongside AI feel like a breath of fresh air.
Work in public
We’re highly averse to private threads. We’re a remote-first company, but we don’t work in isolation. Progress happens in shared spaces where the whole team can follow, contribute, and learn. Personal feedback and people management happen privately; everything else is intentionally visible.
Take on hard things
This isn’t the place to coast or to rest on your laurels. The standard for great software keeps rising and we hold the bar high. You’ll be pushed to take on challenges that are at the edge of what’s possible (and likely outside of your comfort zone or skillset). When you look around, you’ll see that everyone else is doing the same.
Remote-first, but not remote-only
There’s nothing quite like being in the same space to carry a big project forward. While most of the time we’re working from our home offices, we do travel regularly for hackathons, offsites, and in-person working sessions. While we’re all together, we have a bit of fun too!

We take care of our own
We reward our builders with competitive salary and benefits. Our home office budget has gotten a lot of praise, but the rest of our perks are pretty great too.
Fully covered healthcare
We fully cover multiple health, dental, and vision plans, including HSA and FSA eligible plans. We also provide access to an employee assistance program and to OneMedical.
Team hackathons & sprints
Periodically join your team in person for focused work sprints and collaborative hackathons—dedicated time to solve hard problems together.
$10K home office makeover
If you have a dedicated home office space, we’ll invest up to $10,000 to create a workspace that supports how you work best.
Latest hardware & equipment
Get the hardware and ergonomic equipment you need to do your best work—laptop, monitor, keyboard, headphones, chair, desk, and more.
Equity refresh opportunities
Stay invested in the product you help build. Employees become eligible for an equity refresh after two years.
Company-wide offsites
Join the team in person at our annual retreat. Past locations include Vermont, Georgia, Colorado, and Arizona.
401K match
We match 100% of your contributions up to 3%, plus 50% of the next 2%—to help you plan for the long term.
Paid family leave
Receive up to 12 weeks of paid family leave to bond with a new child or care for a loved one.
Even our hiring process moves fast
We don’t make you wait weeks for each interview stage, and we definitely don’t ghost. If things are going well, you can expect to complete our interview process in days, not weeks. The process can vary a bit from role to role, but in general it looks like this:
